Another Hero in the Army of Davids

I’m adding another fellow to my hero list.  You may have run into this video, in which a Wall Street Occupier explains how great things are in North Korea.  I thought it had gone more viral, but it’s only at 38-thousand-and-change as of today.

Thanks to Judge Napolitano, we learn that the videographer is Vladimir Jaffe:  Russian-born American, small businessman, and Tea Partier.  The combination of a Russian accent with the swift exposure of his subjects’ ignorance gives Jaffe’s videos an amusing Borat vibe.

Mr. Jaffe has been steadily uploading new clips for several months, and I have enjoyed following him on his journey to educate the lost leftists of New York City.  Some clips are on the long side, so I’ve culled and annotated a few of my favorites for your expedited viewing pleasure.

Skip right to 2:00 in the next video.  Two young leftists inform Mr. Jaffe that Cuba has the highest standard of living for all the nations in the Caribbean.  “That I’ve heard,” the young lady adds as a bit of an escape clause.

Then, at 3:00, the young lady declares with a straight face that a doctor should not necessarily be paid more than a street sweeper if that doctor’s education was free (I have to assume she means free to him–somebody has to pay for that education).  A person’s hard work, time, dedication, brains and talent mean nothing, apparently.

At about 9:20, the young lady says well, I don’t defend the system that existed in the USSR, so Jaffe asks, then why is the hammer and sickle on this table then?

On to the next clip.  Start about :50, when an old commie guy defends Trotsky.  Then at 2:05 he claims that Lenin’s revolution was bloodless.  (Note to all you Occupiers out there:  don’t try to school a Russian on Russian history, it makes you look really dumb.)

He tries to blame first Stalin, and then the isolation of Russia for the failings of that particular glorious revolution.  Then, at 4:25 he is forced to fold:  “Alright, well, you are welcome to read through the books that we have . . . .”  Just leave me alone, you horrible man with your facts and your logic.

Mr. Jaffe presses:  “You are promoting all of this.  It’s my country you want to change.”  At 5:34, he asks Old Commie Guy for an example of a successful socialist country.

Cuba.

Old Commie admits that he couldn’t set up a table and promote capitalism if he were in Cuba.  Yet, he refuses to back down.  Having revealed his totalitarian core, he walks away.  What more is there to say?

A pattern emerges in these video clips:  through language or imagery the subjects associate themselves with the likes of Stalin, Lenin, Che, Castro, until they are called out by an actual victim of one such regime.  Then, they distance themselves.  They claim that “wasn’t really communism/socialism.”  They insist that they are in the vanguard of a new system.

I have to applaud Mr. Jaffe for his patience.  Unlike Borat, he never descends into simple mockery.  He is actually reaching out to these maddeningly misinformed malcontents.  The folks above remain unmoved, undeterred.  In other clips, however, he may actually be making a lasting impression.  Watch as this poor fellow runs out of talking points.  Skip to 4:00 for the best part:

The awkwardness is palpable as the interviewed fellow admits “he doesn’t know which companies we invest in.”  Mr. Jaffe points out, well, since you are sitting at this table as a representative, I assume you are familiar.  He presses the young man on the question of what is so wrong with coal, and the man folds completely.  He lamely refers Mr. Jaffe to the “research department” in a brochure and gives up on the conversation.

The next video clip is the longest, because the subject interviewed is actually willing to listen.  Skip to 7:50, where the young man makes an outlandish claim about Israel.  Mr. Jaffe then leads him by the proverbial hand down a path of logic and history.  Watching his discomfort as he tries to wiggle off this path is both comical and gratifying.  Because he can’t.  He can’t escape the logic.

“I think there’s a lot of sh** behind that, that we have no idea about,” he mutters lamely at 12:09, but Mr. Jaffe rolls his eyes.  “Why are you rolling your eyes at me?” he says reproachfully.  Look, Mr. Jaffe says, these are simple facts.  If you don’t believe the facts, then I don’t know what to else to say.

The last clip is short and sweet.  A representative of the Freedom Socialist Party dives into a helpful explanation of socialism, until Mr. Jaffe asks her whether Che was a socialist.

Immediately uncomfortable, she refuses to answer.  At 1:50 he asks, how are you going to make socialism different now?  “Russia and the movements in the past also lacked international support,” she offers.  Jaffe runs through a long list of countries with which Russia had relations, both the friendly and the forced, and asked her to help him understand why socialism didn’t work in those places, but will work here.

“I’m sorry, are you filming this? I would prefer that you didn’t.”

Yep.

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed these videos.  Aside from the amusement factor, they serve as an important lesson for me:  go ahead.  Call them out.  It feels like a waste of time, but it isn’t.

What would happen if we all got out and pressed the loudest propagators of Leftist Lunacy?  As Mr. Jaffe demonstrates, they quickly run out of words.   If leftists were confronted by an Army of Jaffes and Breitbarts and other assorted Davids every time they stood up to bleat something stupid, how many of them would finally, and at long last, shut up?

Hmm.  I think I’m off to Facebook to see if I can pick a fight.

If I had a son he’d look like…

On March 27th in Washington D.C.the AFP Rally against Obamacare was visited by a very foul-mouthed  proponent of the President. As vile as he was, he was very non-threatening as one lady after another got in his grill to defend liberty!

Is Jim a Liar or Successfully Behind Enemy Lines?

Meet Jim, former Republican, but now a big Obama supporter according to an email I just received. Click on the image to enlarge.

Yes, Jim left the Republicans because of the extremist Tea Party element which embraces limited, Constitutional government accountable to the people.

HOW CRAZY IS THAT?

The Republican Party has at least paid lip service to that notion, even when they’ve fallen short from time to time.

Maybe crazy old Jim paid his $3 to have his Joe the Plumber moment, a chance to speak directly to the president to complain about the godawful job he’s doing. Now THAT would be a savory You Tube video.

Or Jim is a liar that was never a Republican at all.

You make the call.

Occupy Unmasked

This spring, Citizens United will be releasing a new movie called ‘Occupy Unmasked’, which will blow the lid off of Barack Obama’s Goon Squad, which he unleashed against CPAC over the last two days.  Working with Andrew Breitbart, Steve Bannon, and two reformed leftists, Brandon Darby and Lee Stranahan, the very heart of the Occupy/ACORN movement and it’s direct ties to this thug president will be exposed to the nation.

They are describing the feel of this project as a War Movie and after witnessing what happened at CPAC I think they’re spot on.

Watch the trailer and discussion.

Part One

Part Two

These are very dangerous and evil people.  They disrupted CPAC several times like good little totalitarians, unsuccessfully trying to stifle our 1st amendment rights.

The campaign to re-elect this president will be one of the most violent, if not the most violent, in American history.  Know your enemy.

P.S.  I will sift through the rest of my videos to find and put up how the ACORN/Occupy movement is organized into teams as described by Brandon Darby.  The anarchist left has been organizing for decades, which sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s true.  We conservatives are woefully unprepared and somewhat ignorant about what is headed our way.  Obama and his anarchist, leftist buddies are a threat to the Republic.

Tea Party is still vibrant and relevant.

We have all heard the main stream media’s reports that the Tea Party movement is losing steam and fading away. I guess no one has told the Virginia Tea Party Alliance. Unlike most of the country, Virginia has a big election this year with every one of the 140 seats of the General Assembly on the ballot. The House of Delegates currently has a Republican majority but the in Senate the Democrats have a slim 22 -18 majority and with a three seat pick up the Republicans can flip the Senate. The Virginia Tea Party Alliance has formed a PAC and they have produced this ad to continue what they started in 2009 with the election of Governor McDonnell and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

Richmond Tea Party: City Leaders endorse anarchy.

Eric McGrane, President of the Richmond Tea Party, just asserted to me that laws should be universal, applying to all groups equally, but the fact that RTP has well documented issues requiring compliance and expenditures somewhere between $8,000 and $10,000 that were forced upon the group over the last three Tea Party events in Richmond shows that all laws do NOT apply equally.

“The fact that they are not and the fact that mayor Jones refuses to enforce the law and choses to empathize with the OWS movement shows that city leadership endorses anarchy over lawfulness in Richmond.”, said McGrane.

I remember the mounting requirements and impediments as we planned the first Richmond Tea Party.  At first we were told that as long as the first event was mobile, i.e., not stationary, that no permit was required.  Once it was determined that our Richmond Tea Party group was too large to unleash on the streets of Richmond we complied with every single demand from the city, including acquiring a Special Events permit, a million dollar liability policy, spending for police security, a medical emergency team, portable toilets, vendor licenses and a myriad of other obstacles.

McGrane stresses that Richmond Tea Party maintains a good working relationship with the various departments, including parks and recreations, and the police, but their beef is with the mayor and city leadership that penalizes a law abiding organization like Richmond Tea Party, but gives a pass to the anarchists, communists, socialists, and community organizers from the Occupy movement.

A refund for the over $8,000 in expenses incurred over the last 3 RTP events is justified and appropriate.

One last point.  The Governor that sat in the Richmond capital in 2009 was former DNC Chair and Senate Candidate Tim Kaine.  Nothing that happens in the capital city goes without the notice and approval of the Governor.  Did Tim Kaine advise that the mayor erect such roadblocks?  Just curious.

Stop comparing OWS to the Tea Party Movement

Why do we keep hearing claims that the Occupy Wall Street squatters are just like the Tea Party activists? First, isn’t it interesting that the Democrats and the main stream media who repeatedly attempted to discredit the Tea Party as astroturf, or unorganic is now attempting to certify the credibility and authenticity of OWS by making Tea Party comparisons. The truth is that the qualities and characteristics that made the Tea Party so influential and impactful are exactly what differentiates the two movements.

The Tea Party’s desires and demands were clear and concise, they claimed the Federal government has not only grown too large but they have exceeded  the  enumerated powers granted to them by our constitution and they were petitioning their government to work towards balancing the federal budget and return those powers not specifically enumerated in the constitution to the states and the people (see 10th Amendment). They could see that the leadership in Washington was moving towards an all powerful national government determined to use central planning to institute one size fits all solutions like Obamacare, or the Waxmen-Markey cap and trade bill which not only promised to cause energy prices to sky rocket it would have effectively over-written local building codes with new national requirements and federal building code enforcement. The Tea Party understood that the more powerful the federal government was permitted to become, the less liberty the states and the people will have.

The OWS activist’s desires and demands are are not clear at all, to us or most of them. I have seen various lists of demands mostly calling for suspending our constitution and having the federal government seize assets from rich people and corporations to fund a cradle to grave affluent lifestyle for all, regardless of individual skills, talents, or efforts. One demand of OWS that seems to be gaining traction is a call to get the money out of politics. They want to prohibit campaign donations to federal political candidates in violation of the 1st amendment and declare that candidate donations are not speech (contrary to the SCOTUS ruling in Buckley v Valeo) so it does not conflict with the 1st amendment.

So to summarize the Tea Party activist are petitioning the federal government to adhere to the constitution and fiscal responsibility and the OWS parasites are demanding the government, by any means necessary, provide a comfortable existence for all. There is an accurate comparison to be made, The OWS is an awful lot like the Greeks who are demanding that their government handouts must not be reduced even if it causes a complete default.

Balance of Power shifting mightily as Republican Governors strike at the belly of the beast

The Beast is, expectedly, not happy.

“Underneath the real crisis about funding and revenue and pensions is an opportunity to take your opponents and knock them down a peg in terms of having their members participate politically,” said former Service Employees International Union President Andrew Stern. “It’s an opportunity to rebalance the political scale.”

“Those unions are an important part of the core Democratic coalition — from a purely mechanical standpoint, they matter in our elections,” said Jim Jordan, a Democratic consultant, who added that the principle of collective bargaining is also a central one to the party.

“This isn’t just about power and politics — this is one that is truly about principle,” he said.

Yes, Mr. Jordan. It is about principle. When the individual struggles to pay property and state, county and municipal taxes to provide feather beds for pampered government employees, it is ‘truly about principle’. That Andy Stern would admit that this strategy has legs only invigorates us more.

Thank. You.

Think about the possibilities. Unions having to reaffirm with their members every year. Dues would be negotiable. Unions no longer having unquestioned supremacy in the government workplace. The funds dry up. The massive political contributions are shrunk, maybe even eliminated.

No wonder Service Employees International for Obama, AFL-CIObama, Organizing for Obama, Obama for Obama, and Disorderly Unwashed Anarchists for Obama are organizing a major back lash for this week.

Thanks to Instapundit for the link to politico.

This is a strategerie that could have long lasting benefits.

By the way. ARE YOU LISTENING ERIC CANTOR and HOUSE REPUBLICANS??
You passed a Continuing Resolution that cuts a mere 4% of the Obama Budget.

Four percent of a budget that has been inflated beyond sanity and all you got is a measly 4%?

Really?

Grow some. Or lose what you have.

If I have to I’ll run against you next time. I don’t want to. But if I have to I will.

Obama & SEIU double down: KOS fundraises for Wisconsin Democrats

From yesterday’s Daily KOS email blast…

By now, you’ve probably heard about the amazing protests in Wisconsin. Public sector unions are making an historic stand against both the Tea Party and the billionaire Koch brothers who finance that “grassroots” movement.

Even though you don’t live in Wisconsin, there’s a way you can help. The 14 Democratic state Senators who kept the fight alive are on Act Blue, and we’ve put their party committee on our Orange to Blue 2012 page.

Please, contribute $14 to the Wisconsin State Senate Democratic committee, $1 for each of the heroic Senators.

The temptation to put the Monty Python ‘Brave sir Robin’ video here is strong, but it has been overused, so I will refrain.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Especially if you created the crisis in the first place.

Organizing for America (Obama’s Brown Shirt Army), SEIU and AFL-CIO are exponentiating the protest in Wisconsin by organizing similar events across the country starting tomorrow. President Chaos won’t be satisfied until he’s inflamed the entire country.

Grab your cameras and drop in on a rent-a-mob event near you.

George Allen and The Virginia Republicans, I Don’t Believe They Get It!

At the Richmond Tea Party Patriots Convention last month, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, a favorite of the tea-party movement because of his principled adherence to the constitution and his willingness to courageously  challenge the over reach of President Barack Obama’s policies, attributed the tea party’s rapid rise to the “utter failure of the Republican Party in Washington.” The audience exploded in raucous cheers and applause.

The impetus of the “tea party” movement has been well documented and I am not going to go back down that road again. Instead, I would like to challenge the contention of establishment Republicans, that they have learned their lesson and now, having been granted a second chance, are on probation and won’t betray us again.

It just so happens that while Cuccinelli was railing on the unprincipled behavior of the Bush-era Republican lawmakers, sitting next to him on that stage were two Senators who played no small part in the aforementioned offense. Rick Santorum and George Allen, who were both ousted from the Senate in 2006 in a wave election which rejected their leadership, came to Richmond to win favor with the movement. They hoped that all would be forgotten. They weren’t the only ones, I saw more than one of our Republican State Senators who voted for Governor Mark Warners huge tax increase in 2004 milling around and of course the establishment anointed 2013 gubernatorial candidate Bill Bolling appeared as well.

The Tea Party members are willing to let bygones be bygones and they are willing to let a George Allen compete for nomination but what they will not tolerate is the secret back room deals by establishment party leaders that lead to horrible candidates like Scozzafava in NY or almost saddled us with Crist in Florida or Castle in Delaware.

In Virginia the parties can select their nominees through the primary election process or through a convention. When choosing a state-wide nominee, the establishment generally prefers a primary as it favors establishment candidates with more name recognition and more money while conservatives prefer the convention.

This Saturday the Republican Party of Virginia’s Central committee will be meeting and  Russ Moulton, a long-time conservative Republican Party activist is sounding the alarm in this letter to the committee which was originally posted at  Bearing Drift.

Dear State Central Member,

My name is Russ Moulton, a long-time conservative Republican Party activist, and former 1st District GOP Chairman. I was George Allen’s Fredericksburg Area Coordinator for his successful 1993 Convention campaign for our Gubernatorial Nomination, and was a delegate for Bob Marshall’s unsuccessful US Senate nomination bid at the 2008 Convention. I have not committed to either candidate in the upcoming 2012 Senate nomination contest, and, who knows, we may see additional candidates emerge. It is still quite early.

I am alarmed at what I have learned is happening in advance of the November 20th State Central Committee meeting:

– A few SCC members aligned with one candidate (George Allen) are rushing the SCC to vote Novembers 20th on the method of nomination for 2012 – when most members believed this vote would occur in March or even June 2011, after all nomination method options had been explored, party plan amendments decided, and full information gathered, and deliberated.

– George Allen and Vice Chairman Mike Thomas have been calling State Central Members quietly to lobby them to vote for a Primary at the Nov 20th meeting. While I like and deeply respect Mike, he is a well-known Allen-booster. Word is they have already “lined up their votes” and a Primary is a “fait accompli” – without the direct, open deliberation of Party leaders.

As you are probably aware, it is universally accepted that a Primary works to the great advantage of one candidate (George Allen), and thus why he would ask SCC to give him a Primary.

This sort of Party establishment favoritism, back-room dealing and manipulation is precisely the sort of thing the Tea Party rails against. They are tired of the status quo in our politics.

The Tea Party is already disappointed with our Party for the big domestic spending during the Bush years, and by association, George’s time in the Senate during those years. We do not need to hurt George with the Tea Party by furthering his perception as the establishment candidate, with Party insiders handing him the nomination via a Primary.

In fact, I understand that several Tea Party leaders at the recent Tea Party Convention in Richmond let George know in no uncertain terms their desire for a Convention for 2012.

Our State Central Committee is elected by the grass-roots of our Party, which includes the Tea Party. Let’s not rush a vote on a 2012 method of nomination at the Nov 20th State Central meeting. Let’s get our input from the grass roots that elected us — not react and rush things in response to a request by one candidate. Let’s defer this vote until we’ve properly considered everything, perhaps deciding at the March or June 2011 meeting.

Best regards,

Russ Moulton

Add to this the report from the Richmond Times Dispatch that Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling came out strongly today against proposed Republican Party of Virginia rules changes that could help Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, a possible challenger, win the nomination to run for governor in 2013 and I wonder if the Republican Party Gets it.

While a willingness to cut spending and get our fiscal house in order is welcomed and necessary, that alone will not satisfy the tea party activists. The people have a high level of mistrust of establishment politicians and their backroom deals. The people want to participate in selecting their candidates and shenanigans like this will not help George Allen, Bill Bolling, and the Republican Party win over the support of the patriot movement, indeed it is more likely that this will energize them to oppose them.
